Diana, Dani, and Taya had already built something remarkable together - helping grow a national brand for their employer in California, working side by side, and somewhere along the way becoming the kind of friends who finish each other's sentences. They knew what it looked like to build something great. They just hadn't built it for themselves yet.

That changed one night in 2016. Over laughter, good company, and a few bottles of wine, the three of them started talking about what it would look like to create something of their own. A space that felt different. A place built around people, not just hair. It started as a playful what-if, the kind of conversation you have when the night is good and anything feels possible. But something about it stuck.

The name came during those early brainstorming sessions: Meraki - a Greek word that means to do something with soul, creativity, and love. To pour yourself into what you do so completely that a piece of you is left in it. It was perfect. It was exactly what they wanted to build.

In January 2017, Meraki Room officially opened its doors and what had started as a wine-fueled dream became something real. From day one, the vision was clear: create an experience rooted in genuine care, exceptional skill, and the kind of atmosphere that makes every client feel like they truly belong there. Not just a salon. A room where people come as they are and leave feeling like the best version of themselves.

Over the years, Meraki Room has grown into exactly that - a sanctuary. For clients, it's the place they return to not just for great hair, but for the way it makes them feel walking out the door. For the stylists who call it home, it's a space where their craft is celebrated, their growth is supported, and showing up to work every day genuinely means something. That's still what drives everything here. Soul, creativity, and love — in every appointment, every interaction, every detail. Just like the name says.
